Waters Edge Silver

Waters Edge Silver is the jewellery studio of silversmith Jessandra (Jess) Phillips at 755 Steward Drive on Mayne Island, BC. Jess makes nature-inspired sterling silver jewellery using recycled metals, sea glass and ethically sourced stones, and the textures and found objects of the Southern Gulf Islands and the Salish Sea show up in every piece. Her work is handmade and one of a kind, which makes it a good keepsake of a trip to the coast or a gift for someone who loves the ocean. Jess is a member of the Craft Council of British Columbia. The studio is open by appointment, so call or text to arrange a visit, or browse the collection and order online at watersedgesilver.com.

Our Story

Jessandra Phillips is a self-taught artist with a lifelong love of making things. In her early twenties she studied nursing, and she went on to work as a maternity nurse, birth doula and prenatal teacher, exploring fibre arts and painting while raising four children.

In 2003, while living on a small island in the western Pacific, she discovered sea glass and was drawn back into making jewellery. She took silversmithing courses and studied precious metal clay, and began creating textured, ocean-inspired pieces.

Today she works from her studio on Mayne Island, where the textures and found objects of the Southern Gulf Islands feed directly into her designs. She works with recycled metals and ethically sourced stones, and says she loves the interplay between creativity and skill that is silversmithing.
